Indulge your senses and relax on this rare Horse-Drawn Barge, now one of only 6 in Great Britain. Experience this gentle journey that will take you back in time to memories of yesteryear, as you travel through the beautiful Devon countryside. Quiet and unspoilt, this historic waterway is now a Local Nature Reserve and home to many otters, dragonflies, kingfishers, coots, ducks and swans. The canal is also rich in flora, including the yellow water iris, white water lilies and the early purple orchid.

The Most Popular Trip is the 2½ hour return. This leaves Tiverton Wharf and takes you out into the Devon countryside. The barge travels for 1 hour to East Manley, where it turns around and moors up allowing you the opportunity to take a short walk to see the one and only Aqueduct on the Grand Western Canal, or you may like to stay and talk to the Horse as he rests awhile under the shade of a tree. During your memorable journey you will hear some tales and history of the canal, and often there is a minutes silence ............. so you can experience the true peace and tranquility of traveling by Horse-Drawn Barge.
